The Life in Your Years

Our Office: Halloween 2012

There were plenty of homemade potluck goodies to share and a swarm of creative costumes in the Office group this year for the annual Halloween celebration. We had a lazy bum, a greaser, a fisherman, a hippie, the Bride of Frankenstein and a high school valedictorian.

Marv from Home Alone

A school teacher and a goddess.

A hot dog street vendor and his wiener dog mascot.

The Hamburglar

Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat

A butterfly and a construction worker

A doctor, Mitt Romney (a candidate for the 2012 US Presidency), and the Dos Equis man, certainly The Most Interesting Man in the World

A skateboarder with a ridiculous amount of face piercings

Duck Dynasty met a fellow sportsman for a few PBRs

The entire creative gang had fun together

...but wait, the Hamburgler and Marv appear to be taking action!

'No, not my hamburgers!!'

Quickly Marv was on the floor knocked out from Kevin McAllister's (Macaulay Culkin) hot iron to the head.

And, even though the Hamburglar got away free, thankfully the two professional burglars didn't take the beers!

Happy Halloween everyone!!

I'd like to dedicate this fun LifeSauce post to my Great Aunt 'Hilly' Hildegard who's life many of us celebrated today. Hilly was an amazingly strong woman capable of raising two young girls at a time in American history when society was not as supportive as it is today. This woman had a fantastic outlook on life. She loved to laugh and tell jokes to others. Even as a little girl I remember her dirty ones that made me a little uncomfortable, but I still smiled - and will never forget.

Like a ghost of the past, today our family uncovered this picture of Hilly as a teenager preparing for her confirmation.

Hilly was a true Wisconsin woman that loved to do puzzles, dance the polka with family and friends, play Sheepshead and other card games and read many Danielle Steele books. She was a Mary Kay gal for a while, earning a fantastic pink Cadillac that the successful company ladies drove around town. Since my dad worked in Illinois once in while and my mom worked third shift at Briggs & Stratton, Aunt Hilly and I spent lots of quality time together over the years. She made me laugh and was full of generous love. You'll be missed here on earth Hilly!!
